​School-based Youth Health Nurse - Trink Tonkes

Trink is our school-based youth health nurse. The School-Based Youth Health Service (SBYHN) is delivered in partnership with West Moreton Health Service to support the health and wellbeing of young people and the school communities.

The SBYHN can see young people in private to talk about:

  • Growth and development
  • Relationships
  • Personal and family issues
  • Alcohol and other drugs concerns
  • Sexual health
  • Mental health
  • General Health and Wellbeing

SBYHN does not provide:

  • treatment e.g., medications, injections, first-aid
  • physical examinations
  • ongoing counselling for psychological or educational problems

Confidentiality

Young people have a right to confidentiality when accessing health services. As a health service provider, the Youth Health Nurse respects this but there are some things which the nurse must refer or act upon. Please discuss what can be expected regarding confidentiality with the Youth Health Nurse.
