At Bremer State High School, we know that strong partnerships between families and schools help students thrive. That’s why we’re committed to open, respectful and constructive communication with our parents and carers—because when we work together, we’re better placed to support your child’s learning, wellbeing and personal development.
The Department of Education has released a helpful guide to strengthen how schools and families communicate, setting out shared expectations for what, how and when we connect. We encourage you to read it and use it to support our ongoing partnership.
Communicating With Us
Follow our communication process—Your needs and concerns matter. We have processes in place to make sure you can connect with the right person efficiently. If you’re unsure who to speak to or how to get in touch, please contact our administration team or your Year Level Hub, and they’ll guide you.
Be clear and prepared—Before contacting us, think about what you’d like to discuss and how we might help. Try to reach out when you're in a calm and clear frame of mind so that we can work together constructively.
Make an appointment—Our staff are committed to supporting your child, and we want to give you our full attention. Please allow us time to prepare by organising a meeting or phone call in advance.
Plan next steps together—If more communication is needed, we’ll work with you to plan the next steps and agree on when and how we’ll continue the conversation.
Keep your contact details up to date—It’s essential that we can reach you when we need to. Please ensure we have your most current phone number, email and emergency contacts.
Allow time for responses—We understand some matters feel urgent, but please remember our staff manage many responsibilities. We’ll respond as soon as we can.
Be respectful—Every conversation matters. Whether it’s in person, over the phone or in writing, respectful communication helps us work together more effectively for your child.
Work with us as a team—You know your child best, and we bring expertise in teaching and learning. Together, we form a strong team, open-minded, solution-focused and united in supporting your child’s success.
