Welcome to the Bremer Basketball Academy

Established: 2023

The Bremer Basketball Academy is designed to support student-athletes at all stages of their basketball journey, from beginners to advanced players. Our program focuses on developing on-court fundamentals through advanced skill training, strength and conditioning programs. At the core of the Bremer Basketball Academy is our mission: Dream, Work, Inspire. With high-level coaching, strong partnerships, and top-tier facilities, our academy is the ideal environment for aspiring basketball players to reach their potential.

Partnerships

Ipswich Basketball Association: Bremer State High School is proud to partner with Ipswich Basketball Association (IBA), who provide refereeing for all Bremer Basketball Academy home games. Through this partnership, IBA also offers refereeing courses to our student-athletes throughout the year, equipping them with valuable skills, career pathways, and employment opportunities in the sport.

Brothers Basketball Club: Our partnership with Brothers Basketball Club provides our student-athletes with exclusive members-only access to specialised training camps led by professional players and industry representatives. Through this partnership, Bremer Basketball Academy student-athletes receive elite coaching, mentorship, and pathways to club-level competition.

Basketball in the Curriculum

At Bremer State High School, basketball is integrated into the curriculum. Students in Years 7 and 8 participate in basketball-specific classes as part of the Health and Physical Education (HPE) Australian Curriculum. In Years 9 and 10, basketball is an elective subject which covers both practical on-court training and theoretical classroom study on nutrition, sports psychology, officiating and more.

In Years 11, and 12, students can take basketball as a subject under the Sports and Recreation Australian Curriculum, combining theoretical classroom sessions with practical on-court training.
