The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (Duke of Ed) is a globally recognised, non-competitive program that encourages personal growth, resilience, and community involvement.
Coordinated at Bremer State High School and delivered under the Australian Award Office, this program empowers students aged 14 to 25 to challenge themselves through service, skill-building, physical activity and adventure.
Importantly, participation in the Award is student-driven. While Bremer facilitates and supports your journey, your initiative and motivation are key to starting and completing the program.

Completion of each Award level also contributes points towards your Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and is highly regarded by both employers and universities for fostering well-rounded, capable young leaders.
Thanks to a generous grant, Bronze Level registration is FREE for Bremer students in Years 9 to 11.
Award Levels and Requirements
There are three Award levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Each level involves completing a set of activities across key sections of the program:

You’ll design your own program based on what interests and inspires you. Many students already take part in extra-curricular activities—inside or outside school—that can count towards their Award.
You'll be supported by an Award Leader, along with instructors and assessors, who can help you select activities and set achievable goals. However, it’s your journey—it's your choice.
