COVID-19: ARRANGEMENTS FOR CONTINUING LEARNING
Dear Parents and Caregivers
This
week has seen a large number of absences. Thank you to families who
are following advice to keep students at home who are unwell. The
school is still open and I encourage you to send your children to school
if they are well.
We
understand and respect the decision of some of our families to keep
students home as a precautionary measure. At this stage, our teachers
are supporting the continuing nature of teaching and learning programs
for students at school. We are unable to provide individualised
learning via email for students who have been kept home, however, Bremer
State High School is in an advantageous position; teachers have been
working in online platforms for some time, which can be accessed from
home from a digital device.
Work for students will be available in the following ways. Please do not email individual teachers or Deans to request work for your child.
All students in Years 7 to 9 have important learning in Literacy and Numeracy.
Numeracy lessons:mathletics.com.au or via the Mathletics app
Literacy lessons:wordflyers.com.au or via the Wordflyers app
All
students have been taught how to log in and access these websites using
their school user name and password. When students are accessing
learning material on these websites, they should access only ‘Australian
Curriculum aligned materials’.
All
students in Year 10 are to continue working on homework, set classwork
and assignments including any online modules that may be available.
Further information and resources to support learning in Year 10 will be
available shortly.
All
students in Years 11 and 12 are to continue their learning program
including homework, set assignments/assessment and set classwork. This
can include learning that is placed on a OneNote page or the Learning Place and online training resources (e.g. Blue Dog competencies).
Whilst
it is not realistic in these circumstances to replicate our usual
academic programs remotely, I can assure you that your child’s learning
can continue.
